Textual Evaluation of Qudsī Hadiths in the Discourse of Doctrinal Beliefs Based on the Hadith Sources al-Kāfī and the Ṣaḥīḥayn

Despite their distinctive status in Islamic studies, Qudsī Hadiths have received relatively limited scholarly examination. The present study seeks to identify the doctrinal category of these hadiths within the two major hadith sources, al-Kāfī and the Ṣaḥīḥayn of al-Bukhārī and Muslim, and to introduce the doctrinal differences between them. The findings indicate that the Qudsī Hadiths related to beliefs, as transmitted by the hadith scholars of the two Islamic schools, Shīʿism and Sunnism, exhibit clear and significant distinctions. The most prominent of these differences appears in the hadiths concerning tawḥīd (divine unity), which are also the most numerous. Such an approach can provide a clearer representation of the worldview of the two aforementioned schools.
