Social responsibility is the assurance of others’ well-being in everyday life and the pursuit of personal goals without ignoring or violating the rights and expectations of others. Social responsibility can be defined as a sense of obligation to act or to respond individually in various situations due to commitment toward others, resulting in feelings of duty and adherence to others under diverse conditions. Various factors influence social responsibility. Accordingly, the present study aimed to examine the relationship between individuals’ level of institutional trust and religiosity with the social responsibility of citizens in Isfahan. This study is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive–survey in terms of method. The statistical population consisted of citizens of Isfahan aged 18 to 80 who are familiar with and aware of their civic rights. A sample size of 510 individuals was considered. To collect data, the Glock and Stark Religiosity Questionnaire (1965), Eskandari’s Institutional Trust Questionnaire (2012), and the California Social Responsibility Questionnaire (1974) were used. Based on the findings of the study, there is no relationship between individuals’ level of institutional trust and the social responsibility of citizens in Isfahan; however, there is a significant relationship between religiosity and the social responsibility of citizens in Isfahan. The results also showed a significant relationship between institutional trust and religiosity.
