Abstract

No specialized or thematic article or book has been written regarding the method and foreign policy of Imam Ali (A.S.), nor has his political approach been compared with Western schools of thought. However, Imam Ali (A.S.) holds valuable views in this regard, as he considered politics in all its dimensions and defined balance in conduct and the implementation of justice in all areas as the essence of politics. This study seeks to examine Imam Ali’s (A.S.) foreign policy in all its aspects, along with a comparison between his political approach and Western schools. Ultimately, it is observed that politics from Imam Ali’s (A.S.) perspective is derived from the sacred religion of Islam and aims at both worldly and eternal salvation of humanity, whereas politics in Western schools is secular in nature and is solely concerned with profit, loss, and material or worldly interests.
