Behavior and Conduct of Scholars from the Perspective of Public Epistemology: A Look at the Spiritual Conduct of Ayatollah Kohestani
The ethical conduct and practical behavior of religious scholars are renowned among believers and serve as a guiding path for people's lives. To comprehend the status of jurists who embody the divine attributes, it is essential to recognize their presence within society. Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammad Kohestani (1888–1972) was among the jurists and scholars of the recent century, originating from the eastern region of Mazandaran. After completing his studies and religious devotion, he established the Kohestan Seminary in the city of Ashraf al-Bilad, now known as Behshahr. The behavioral approach and social interactions of this pious jurist, along with the enduring legacy of his noble character, can be discerned through the lived experiences and memories of the people of his time. This study, employing a descriptive-analytical method and relying on documentary studies and primarily field observations, aims to re-examine the spiritual conduct and practical behavior of Ayatollah Kohestani. This is achieved by analyzing the memories and perspectives of his associates and relatives by marriage, with the objective of gaining insight into his epistemological stance. The goal is to present a tangible example of an Islamic lifestyle. The research findings support the hypothesis that, based on descriptions and viewpoints of acquaintances, Ayatollah Kohestani's detachment from worldly desires, piety, and practical commitment to seeking divine satisfaction, simplicity in living, instilling hope among believers, addressing societal issues, and other such qualities were well-recognized truths.
Examining the Ultimate Purpose of Mystical Ethics from the Perspective of Ibn Arabi
Mystical ethics has its own foundations derived from theoretical mysticism and possesses a distinct definition, subject matter, issues, methodology, and ultimate purpose, setting it apart from other ethical approaches. This article aims to elucidate the objectives and ultimate purposes of mystical ethics and its impact on an ethically oriented life within society. To achieve this, we analyze the perspective of Ibn Arabi by examining his works. Mystical ethics is positioned at the core of the mystical journey, and the ultimate goals of this journey are also regarded as the ultimate goals of mystical ethics. The ultimate purpose of mystical ethics is the embodiment of divine ethics, which is a characteristic of the station of fanāʾ fi-llāh (annihilation in God). All virtues and moral qualities serve as a prelude to achieving ultimate perfection, and this perfection is a means to attaining happiness and goodness. The analysis of the research data indicates that the essence and components of mystical ethics, particularly its ultimate purpose, have a significant and positive effect on the ethical lifestyle of society. However, it also presents certain shortcomings, which are addressed in this study.

The family, as the smallest social unit, forms the foundation for the growth and development of any society and holds a special status in religious texts. However, over time and in response to contemporary transformations, it has encountered numerous challenges that necessitate support through various approaches. Accordingly, this study, adopting an intra-religious and descriptive-analytical approach, examines family-related harms from the perspective of the Holy Qur’an. By focusing on the verses containing "In Khiftum" and those related to the root "Khauf" (fear), it extracts and analyzes the relevant verses. Utilizing exegetical and narrative sources, the study identifies family-related harms in three dimensions: cognitive, behavioral, and emotional. The findings indicate that the Holy Qur’an highlights three categories of common harms, including lack of honesty, verbal abuse, defamation, and misconduct by men, such as physical, psychological, and legal mistreatment of their wives, as well as misconduct by women, such as inappropriate self-adornment and breach of marital commitments. To counter these harms, the Qur’an presents various ethical principles and jurisprudential rulings. Principles such as awareness of the rights and responsibilities of spouses, the promotion of ethical conduct, spirituality, good companionship, preservation of mutual respect and dignity, kindness and tolerance, trustworthiness and confidentiality in marital relations, loyalty and adherence to marital commitments, and ultimately, adopting an approach based on intimacy and friendship, which aligns with human nature and divine wisdom, can strengthen the moral foundations of the family and provide an effective strategy for the continuity of marriage.
The Concept of Good Governance in the School of Martyr Soleimani
Good governance is a key concept in political and managerial thought, which in the Islamic school of thought is not only considered an executive system but also an ethical and value-based framework for ensuring justice and social security. This study examines the concept of good governance in the school of Martyr Qasem Soleimani and analyzes the key indicators of this governance model in executive management, domestic and foreign policy, and regional crisis management. The findings reveal that good governance in the school of Soleimani is based on principles such as ethical leadership, jihadi management, accountability, transparency, public participation, and grassroots engagement. Furthermore, this model emphasizes resistance against global arrogance, the protection of the Islamic Ummah, and strengthening the Axis of Resistance at the regional level. A comparative analysis of Soleimani’s governance model with other Islamic governance frameworks shows that his approach successfully integrates religious values, strategic management, and direct field presence, providing an effective solution for managing security and political crises. Therefore, implementing this model in national policymaking can enhance administrative efficiency, foster national cohesion, and strengthen Iran’s defense and security policies. Finally, this study highlights the necessity of further research on Islamic governance and the role of jihadi leaders in the development of managerial frameworks.
Dissecting the Religious Approach to the Network of Security Challenges in Artificial Intelligence
This study aims to dissect the religious approach to the network of security challenges in artificial intelligence. In recent years, advanced artificial intelligence technology has rapidly integrated into human life, becoming an essential tool. As one of the foundational technologies, artificial intelligence possesses unique capabilities that can bring about a significant transformation in various fields of science. However, there remain numerous ambiguities regarding religiously based approaches to artificial intelligence. This study, employing a descriptive-analytical method, seeks to answer the question: What is the jurisprudential perspective on the positive and negative consequences of artificial intelligence usage? The findings of this study indicate that jurisprudence, as an ethical and religious guide, can lead to a substantial transformation in the domain of international laws and regulations governing the use of this technology, as well as in the professional ethics of its users, particularly in preventing security threats and maintaining public peace.
Expressive Methods Influencing the Audience from the Perspective of the Quran
Various intellectual schools, cultures, and civilizations have long sought to convey their intended messages to audiences through diverse methods. Given that religious societies, particularly Islamic countries, require religiously grounded methods and theories of influence, it is essential for researchers and scholars in this field to refer to religious sources and texts to discover and examine them. The Quran, as the most valuable religious source for Muslims, holds a significant position in this regard. Considering the importance of speech and expression, the Quran has employed multiple expressive methods to achieve this goal. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the expressive methods that influence the audience from the perspective of the Quran. This study, using a descriptive-analytical method, aims to extract methods of influence and audience persuasion. The findings indicate that the Holy Quran, since its revelation, has sought to attract the attention of audiences by employing expressive methods such as debate, admonition, questioning, dialectics, repetition, storytelling, analogy, parable, encouragement, warning, association of meanings, reminders, and recounting of unseen events. Since these methods originate from the infinite divine knowledge, they possess exceptional perfection and coherence, ensuring that they never become obsolete despite the passage of time and scientific advancements, maintaining their effectiveness across eras.
Design and Validation of an Educational Model of Tolerance and Forbearance Based on the Quran and Nahj al-Balagha
The present study aims to design and validate an educational model of tolerance and forbearance based on the Quran and Nahj al-Balagha. This research was conducted using a qualitative methodology with a classical grounded theory approach. The research domain includes all Quranic verses and passages from Nahj al-Balagha, encompassing letters, sermons, wisdom statements, and others. The analysis of the research domain was conducted gradually based on relevant keywords, with an emphasis on appropriate Persian and Arabic terms such as tasahul, tasamuh, sahla wa samha, al-tashil, al-taysir, al-tasahul, al-suhula, ease, leniency, gentleness, moderation, and kindness, and continued until theoretical saturation was reached. A library-based method was employed to examine theoretical and research backgrounds, utilizing note-taking as the primary tool. Reliability, credibility, and dependability criteria were ensured to achieve alternative measures of validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using the Glaserian method, incorporating open, selective, and theoretical coding. The findings introduced the educational model of tolerance and forbearance within four educational dimensions: doctrinal and devotional; instructional and developmental; social relations; and individual ethics. These dimensions encompass key categories, including tolerance and forbearance in legislation and lawmaking, tolerance and forbearance in the domain of religious invitation, acknowledgment of prophets and divine scriptures, education based on tolerance and forbearance, tolerance and forbearance in social interactions, tolerance and forbearance in dealing with opponents, tolerance and forbearance in governance and administration, and ethics based on tolerance and forbearance. This model provides the groundwork for divine-oriented human development and the cultivation of a gentle disposition.
Ontology and the Degrees of Creation in Al-Ṣaḥīfa al-Sajjādiyya: A Philosophical Examination and Their Correspondence
The issue of existence and creation has long been one of the most fundamental philosophical debates, and in Islamic philosophy, due to its connection with religious teachings, it has attained unprecedented depth and breadth. Al-Ṣaḥīfa al-Sajjādiyya, as one of the most valuable intellectual and spiritual sources in Shi‘ism, explores the subject of creation and the degrees of existence, presenting concepts related to this issue within a framework rich in meaning. This study, employing a descriptive-analytical method, seeks to analyze philosophical concepts such as ṣan‘, ibdā‘, takwīn, iḥdāth, inshā’, ikhtirā‘, khalq, ja‘l, and fiṭr, and to elucidate the perspective of Al-Ṣaḥīfa al-Sajjādiyya regarding the degrees of creation and existence. The findings of this research indicate that Imam al-Sajjād (peace be upon him), in Al-Ṣaḥīfa al-Sajjādiyya, employs various terms to depict diverse and profound meanings of creation. These key terms, such as takwīn, fiṭr, and ikhtirā‘, signify divine agency and the manner of creation, while concepts like ja‘l and fiṭr imply continuous divine guidance and wisdom in the process of creation. Furthermore, notions such as ṣan‘, ibdā‘, and inshā’ emphasize the uniqueness and unparalleled nature of creation, linking ontological degrees to Islamic philosophy. This analysis reveals that Al-Ṣaḥīfa al-Sajjādiyya not only contains profound philosophical teachings on creation but also implicitly refutes materialist views on the instantaneous creation of the world, emphasizing continuity and purposiveness in the system of creation.
